LOMBOK CRUISE - The Gili IslandCurving away from the northwest corner of Lombok, the Gili Islands are three tranquil atolls where the sand is still sugar white, the water a clear sparkling turquoise, and the sunsets over Bali’s Agung Volcano in the west simply stunning. As one of Indonesia’s top areas for SCUBA diving and a reputation for being the ‘turtle capital of the world’, the Gilis are a must for beginners and experienced divers alike. There are about 20 dive sites around the three islands, with a variety of topography . . . sloping reefs, walls, ridges and canyons. There’s a countless array of rainbow colored hard & soft corals and an enormous amount of diverse marine life. This includes black & white tip reef sharks, tons of turtles (hawksbill, green and olive ridley), scorpion fish, cuttle fish & octopus, moray eels, sea snakes; blue spotted, eagle and (from December to March) manta rays. High lights during the full moon cycle are the schools of the freaky bump-head parrotfish and the occasional visiting whale shark. This is our favorite destination to bring a family of divers . . . it has something for everyone and lot’s of fun beach activities. Don’t miss out on the Gilis ! |
